The Fifth Annual Fair Shake was held on June 19, 2008 at Falcon in Hollywood. The evening was hosted and created by the Advisory Board of WCLP, young professionals who support the WCLP mission by introducing their peers to the work of WCLP. The event also annually honors "unsung heroes" who are making a difference in the lives of the poor. The 2008 honorees, Becky Dennison (co-director of Los Angeles Community Action Network) and Chris Gabriele (director of People Organized for Westside Renewal), were both unsung and definitely heroes. Their tireless grassroots leadership, promoting activism in the affordable housing community, strives to give low-income Angelenos a fair shake.
