Gary Blasi, Professor of Law Emeritus at UCLA and Of Counsel to Western Center, has a distinguished history working on behalf of low-income clients. After graduate study at Harvard, Professor Blasi served as a legal apprentice in Los Angeles, where he also began his practice. In 1978, he joined the Legal Aid Foundation of LA, where he coordinated complex litigation in the areas of housing, welfare, and homelessness. He subsequently joined the UCLA faculty where he has served as Director of the UCLA Institute for Research on Labor and Employment. He has also taught at Stanford and lectured at universities around the world.
