Jason Rivera

Development Coordinator

Jason Rivera is Western Center on Law and Poverty’s Development Coordinator. In his role, Jason works to maintain brand identity, ensure data integrity, and provides event support on behalf of Western Center.

Jason is a creative development and design professional with over 13 years of experience. Driven by a passion for the visual arts, he takes pride in using his design skills to shine a light on the stories of Western Center’s clients, donors, and staff. Jason’s enthusiasm for advocacy through the arts can be traced back to his mentorship in painting and drawing by artist and activist Ben Jones.

Jason is also a musician, composer, and music educator. He has composed music for several media projects including the award-winning eLearning course “Disarming Microaggressions”, as well as for Liberty Mutual’s employee Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program. He also has served as a volunteer music mentor for foster youth across the U.S. and teaches private music lessons.

He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting & Drawing from New Jersey City University, and a Film Scoring Certification from UCLA Extension. Jason is also a member of the Composers Diversity Collective, which works to achieve a diverse entertainment industry and to eliminate the industry’s challenge of employing culturally diverse music creators.
